The Milan Village School is proud of its smallness. We are dedicated to knowing and engaging each individual child, while holding ourselves accountable to high national standards.

As a guide for the individual student we use the Measure of Academic Progress test which assesses each student twice a year. The test gives us immediate feedback about a student's strengths and weaknesses.

In order to address school culture which we feel is the foundation for good learning we have implemented a program called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS allows us to look at the whole school as a unit and statistically analyze the positive and the negative trends.

The school is committed to high standards and making sure that all children have the best opportunity to succeed. The Reading Writing and Oral Communication Curriculum are aligned to the State's Grade Level Expectations and plans are in place for Math, Science and Social Studies. This process gives teachers benchmarks that help them assess student achievement throughout the year.
