What do you like best about being a principal?

I like to work with teachers so we can improve instruction. I also love being with children.

We know this is the first year Hillside and the Junior High are one school. Is it difficult being a principal in two different buildings?

Yes. You have to be very organized. If you forget something you’re in trouble! It is very helpful to have Mr Record this year as an assistant principal. I have never had an assistant principal before.

How many years have you been a principal?

25 years

Have you ever been a teacher?

Yes, I have taught grades 4 and 5.

What did you like best about being a teacher?

I liked teaching Math and Social Studies and developing educational games to make learning fun.
