GMS Girls Basketball |
||
| This
year Gorham Middle School Girls Basketball team was great. They dazzled
from town to town winning 10 out 16 of games. Captains, Emilee and
Diana, really pumped up the players and audience with some cheers before
each game. IE: the song "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough" sung
by The Supremes and they cheered, " What time is it? Game Time!
1,2,3, HUH!" Although the team lost the tournament this year, their
spirits stood high and they carried on. Their leading players were
Christa, scoring 142 points, Brianna, scoring 105, and Diana, scoring
88. The leading foul shooters were Brianna with 53 percent, Christa with
38 percent, and Alexsa with 32 percent. They will be losing the 8th
graders next year, but the 6th graders moving up will be just
as strong, considering the Briggs girls will be playing together!

GMS Girls Nordic Skiing |
||
| This
year we had five middle school female skiers…some old and some new.
Our 8th grade skiers this year, Kelly, Colleen, Sam, and
Saundra, did very well and showed an increasing amount of effort on the
trails. Saundra was one of our new skiers and she did extremely well…considering
she had never been on skis before. At the beginning of the season she
wanted to quit the team, but our coach Mr. Eichler new better than to
let her go. Our assistant coach, Mr. Jackson coached us to the best of
our ability. With his determination to make us the best we could be we
ended up placing 5th out of 18 teams. We are sure that next
year, although we will have a young team, it will be one of the best.

GMS Girls Soccer |
||
| This year, the girls soccer team had about 20 players. Although they didn’t win many games, matter a fact…only one, Coaches Franc and Matt taught our girls how to compete and be aggressive. This year we also decided not to have captains because we thought everyone should be a leader. We did limit it to 8th graders, but everyone got a chance to teach another member something new. | ||
